Quality Assurance Manager

1. Educational Background:

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred Qualification: Master’s degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications: Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), such as Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is highly desirable.

2. Professional Experience:

  • Minimum Years of Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance, with a significant portion of this experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Specific Experience: Proven track record of implementing and managing quality assurance programs in a highly regulated industry, such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or government services. Experience with federal contracts or projects that involve stringent compliance requirements is essential.

3. Skills and Competencies:

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively address quality issues and implement improvement strategies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey quality standards and practices to all stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities to manage a quality assurance team, including training, mentoring, and motivating team members.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with quality assurance software tools and methodologies, and a thorough understanding of statistical analysis.

4. Knowledge:

  •  Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant federal and state regulations and standards that impact the project, such as FDA regulations for healthcare or similar.
  • Process Improvement Knowledge: Expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.

5. Personal Traits:

  •  Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure that all aspects of the project meet or exceed the established quality standards.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes in project requirements or external regulations.
  • Proactivity: Capability to anticipate potential quality issues and implement preventive measures.

6. Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control and Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Team Management: Oversee and manage the quality assurance team, ensuring effective performance and adherence to all project specifications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly update project stakeholders on quality metrics, challenges, and improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of project outputs and increase efficiency.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor all project activities for compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
